Past, Present and Future

I have just a couple of minutes to write in, and I havent got a clue what to write or where to start!!

The plane journey was horrible...really bumpy and possibly the smallest plane in the world.

Seeing her at the airport ...here's where I dont know what to say...... it was like I had seen her yesterday, but was desperate to hug her because I hadnt! She honestly hasnt changed a bit.

We laughed, drank, talked and walked. ALOT!

My brain is so full of the awesome (in the truest sence of the word) sights and sceneary. It like a mix of Wales and Ireland. Mountains, trees and water, with stone walls and gorse and heather everywhere...no cars....anywhere. We went out to fetch lovely-husband from work in what they call rush hour......its not rush-hour, its 10 cars that happen to be on the same road as you!

Her bedroom smells the same. I couldnt tell you that it had any smell at all when we were at school, but 're-smelling' it brought back enormous memories.

The 1950's is clean and fresh and has an optomistic feel to it.

I was the only person on the entire island to be wearing any sort of heel on their boots!

'Lovely-husband' needs to be cloned...just once....(!)

I absolutly 'get' it.

I feel better. All cobwebs have been blown away.

It wasnt like reliving the past at all, even though I knew it wouldnt be, it was part of my future. We are both really bad at judging distances when walking down-hill or down steps...and when we were in the castle she offered me her hand to walk down a bit...we laughed at how we were going to be when we were 50! (also castle had the bounciest grass I have ever encountered...which was hilariously funny!)

If its windy on one side of the 1950's...its not on the other.

They have a beach that has stones on it with holes in them, and I was amazed they didnt know that if you give a stone to someone that has a hole in it (the stone...not the person!) it means 'I love you'.

They fit there. Its where they should be. (and I am too noisy to be anything other than a visitor)

But I have claimed my bit.....it was 17 steps from my flats door to the sea wall, with waves crashing onto big rocks and over the wall.
It was heavenly, the noise, the smell and the sight.

You all need to go. I was blown away, not just by my incredible oldest three dimentional friend and her lovely husband, but by the island itself.

....will write again, in a more 'joined-up' fashion later in the week.

lybxx
