Beds and Borders.

I went to a garden centre today. Not, perhaps the most exciting read for alot of you, but for Laa-Laa and I it was very exciting!

She has an enormous garden. About 4 years ago she decided to do something about it. It had in half of it waist high grass and weeds, the rest was functional but boring.
So we dug a flower bed. The following year we dug another one, and so on. So she now has 3 big beds and the promise of a vegtable garden for this year. In the spring, and its always just after her magnolia begins to flower, she gets out there to tidy and plan this years attack.

So today, with spring firmly here, we went to a local friendly no frills garden centre. Where they give advice as well as healthy plants and bought a few. Her garden feels a bit like mine as I have helped her dig and plan and plant, so it is as exciting for me as for her.

I firmly blame Alan for this. When I became 30 I suddenly found that I liked gardening, which was a bit of a shocker to be honest. Alan became my guru. He is practical and sarcastic giving simple instructions to those who know nothing, and yet teaches those who know something a bit more.

Laa-Laa was terribly skeptical of this gardening milarkie at the beginning, and took the micky alot! .... but now wants organic vegtables to be part of her garden and realises that Alan is a horticultural god (or maybe just humouring me again)

Get out there fellow bloggites.....grow your own..it tastes fab and is better for you then all those chemicaly grown perfectly formed vegtables in the supermarket.

....you would have to see 'before and after' pics to really understand how hard Laa-Laa has worked!

But will gladly post pics of said veg when they are fully grown.
