Itchy and Scratchy

Do you know what the plague of primary school is?... Its not the lack of money, or teachers, or resourses its nits!

When Small was very small and started school friends who had children who were older than Small told me about nits, and how they dominate your childs primary education. I dismissed the idea entirely, thinking that my child would never have them. Saying, and meaning it, ' if you ever get nits, I shall pack your bags and you can live on the streets' .....to much amusement.

Within three weeks her head was crawling with them.

ewwwwwwwww

So it began. The chemical option. The conditioner and combing option. All of it an enormous time consuming pain in the arse. And they dont go......not entirely...because if you leave even one of the little blighters within three days they have bred and bred until there's quite a party going on!

I, thankfully, and terribly suprisingly, seeing as Small has them alot, have only had them once.
They dont like my hair (might be the bleach huh?! ) I have to say that they are no longer something that I stress about. We conditioner and comb every other day, and hope that everyone else in her class does the same, as thats where they are coming from. Some little brat has them, and they jump from head to head, and they keep jumping on Small's.

When I eventually rule the world (and it will happen!) I shall re-introduce the 'nit-nurse'
Children and their mothers will be named and shamed for infestations and will not be allowed back to school until they are nit-free.

are you scratching? lol

The long hair hippy phases is ending soon. Less chance of nits then. More details on my blog.
