Stinky?
What is it about our pets that makes us want to smell them?
You know what I mean (well you will if you have a pet!) My dog can be smelt at 100 paces, and its not a good thing!!..but when I am laying on the floor and she lays next to me I put my nose in her and sniff....you'd think I didnt need to...what with her being a walking cess pit, but I still do, just behind her ear and it smells great!
My cat Jemima. She is a bit like Bagpuss and all she does is love me and sleep. But sometimes I find myself picking her up and really squeezing her with my nose in her fur....she quite likes it! and she lies around my neck when I'm on the sofa so she can put the top of her head on my mouth so I can kiss her, but I like it too because I can put my nose in and smell.
Its not just women that do this, during exhaustive tests about this subject (yeah right!) I came across this in the most unusual place. Picture this. Enormous biker. Hairy and tattoed. Comes across to those who dont know him as a bit 'ard. (actually very inteligent and soft as shit) But when he picks up his cat he puts his nose in the cats neck and breaths in. (I wouldnt do it...the cats got a serious attitude problem and is possibly the crossest cat in the world, but makes you think its not...one of those!) Anyway, he really likes the way it smells, probably because the cat smells of engine oil and J.D.
And he has a special voice for talking to said cat...calls him 'boy' alot in a really odd accent.
Do we all do this?...I think we do. Having laughed hugely at biker...obviously on the inside...dont want to upset the cat(!) I have thought hard about the way I talk to my pets. And yes I have voices and phrases that I use too. And expect them to understand.
So this is to 'Toots' 'Mimy' 'Pogga' 'Poo-face' and 'My boy' .... LOVE YOU!!
